YPEF IX National Stage in Hungary

YPEF IX National Stage in Hungary

250th anniversary of the concept of the sustainable forest management.

The YPEF 2019 national final in Hungary completed successfully. 10 high schools’ students got into the national final and compared their knowledge with each other. The winner of the National Stage is the Kecskeméti Katona József Gimnázium’s team. The national competition was organized by the National Forestry Association.

The students participating in the final had to solve a test about the European forest and forestry, and had to make a scientific poster. The theme of the poster was the sustainable forest management, which is especially topical because we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the order of Maria Theresa issued in 1769, which sets the principles of sustainability and sustainable forest management under the conditions of that time. The scientific posters produced by the teams one by one represented a very high standard, not only one even at university level.
